Molds are designed and drawn before going to the shop to be Ground, Sawed, Milled, Drilled, Sanded, Lathecut, Tapped, Assembled and Polished. Prototype molds or single cavity molds are usually used to zero in sizes before a production mold is produced. Some small quantity orders or larger parts call for single cavity molds to be used for production.
